NaPoWriMo 2017 Day Twenty Eight – Skeltonic Verse

Today’s prompt wants us to write a bunch of short rhyming verses with no particular rhythm aside from two strong stressed words in each verse, generally about something humorous. And the rhyming needs to run out of steam.

Done and done.

An evening snack of cottage cheese
with Newman’s Own, if you please,
a ring of olives, never peas,
or else this girl she flees.
Chase the cheese with tasty teas
but oops the honey from the bees
because of the stiff breeze
has spilled and you seize
a tea towel before the wheez-
ing drops you to your knees
and you open the freez-
er door while everyone agrees
that this poem needs its keys
taken away because it’s drunk.
